Scott Bumpus - Owner
Scott's first trip to Seaside Cycle (and Manchester by the Sea), was in the early 90's while attending Merrimack College. Having been invited by a friend at school to go out on a mountain bike ride out of the shop. After graduating and spending a few years working in his field, and riding out of the shop on a regular basis, an opportunity arose to get involved with the bike shop. After working at Seaside for a few years, when the prior owner (having owned it since the age of 19) was ready to pass it along to the next generation of riders, Scott and his wife Deb were ready to go. They took over the business in 2004 and never looked back. The best part about being involved in this cycling community is all of the great people they get to meet and all the relationships that start on a bike and last a lifetime. Scott loves to ride road, mountain, and some trail riding on the cross bike as well as snowboarding, and sea kayaking. Scott's rides a Trek Domane SLR on the road, Trek Stache 29'er on the trail, and a Specialized Fat Boy for the winter. Some of Scott's favorite cycling memories are riding Whistler B.C, Moab, and Kingdom Trails and most recently riding the foothills of the Pyrenees in Girona, Spain.
Peg Conlon - Marketing and Outreach Coordinator
When Peg moved to Manchester at the end of 2009, she sniffed out the shop looking for trail info. Scott hasn't been able to get rid of her since so he put her to work. Peg grew up in Massachusetts and has lived in FL, TX and the Adirondacks. She is happy to be back on the North Shore where she can look at the sea down her street or turn around to ride the trails just up the other end of it. You'll see her in the woods on her tiny custom 29er and, more likely, tooling around town trying to keep up with her son. She makes an annual pilgrimage to Burke, VT to ride the Kingdom Trails and enjoys hiking, running and snowboarding. Peg also actively volunteers in the area. When she's not feeling active, she likes to knit. She's been married to the bike industry for years and is happy to put her skills and knowledge to use making sure Seaside is represented at all the great bike happenings here on the North Shore and online.
